About the Item
Born in London in 1955 and studying first at Harrow (1973-74) then Bournemouth College of Art (1974-1977) Kremer has spent almost her entire career working alongside contemporary Dorset artists such as Martyn Brewster and Geoffrey Robinson contributing to the Southeast Dorset art scene.
Kremer’s work has changed and developed over the decades; however, colour and landscape continues to be her constant inspiration. In this body of work from 2007-2010 Kremer combines printmaking and masking techniques with her painterly landscape style. The background of soft washes and gradients remind us of her lyrical landscape work, and in the foreground, she uses abstract geometric elements, that interact and counterbalance each other, which seem to ‘float’ or ‘flock’ in tightly organised formations.
In recent years her involvement as one of the founder members of The Arborealists formed in 2013, spearheaded by curator and artist Tim Craven, Abi has enjoyed regularly exhibiting and selling her work in venues around the UK.
