The Language of Flowers and Silent Things — horizontal
By Frédéric Choisel
Located in Burlingame, CA
The Language of Flowers and Silent Things — in four parts with luminous oil on linen. Each panel is 25 1/2 x 19 1/2 inches. Hanging the four paintings in a row with 1 inch between each canvas, the overall dimension is 25 1/2 x 81 inches. Drama and depth at play in this sophisticated painting in aubergine and plum on natural raw Belgian linen. Thin layers of oil paint, create a shimmering and provocative work that shimmers and changes with the light of day and differing seasons. French American Frédéric Choisel, is inspired by the cities and countrysides of France, New York, and California's Bay Area. Like Gerhard Richter, with a background in hyperrealism and shift into abstraction, Choisel is taking us — the viewers of his work — along with him on a visceral journey. Beautiful, rich, highest quality materials used throughout. Artist signed, titled and dated verso. Condition excellent. The four paintings can hang in a quad as pictured or four in a row...

Artificial Flowers, Contemporary Art, Abstract Painting, 21st Century
By Maite Pereda
Located in Mexico City, MX
Artificial Flowers, 2022 Contemporary Art, Abstract Painting Acrylic on canvas 82x62cm Frame included Signed and dated on the back About the artist Maite was born in Mexico City, where she now lives and works. Her work is based on the exploration and understanding of the use of colour as a tool to create a stronger connection between the viewer and the work displayed. Having her interest in colour arise from the common ground that exists between her personal experiences with the use of colour within the Mexican culture and the effects of colour she perceives from her personal artistic practice, she tries to use her work as a way to get familiar with both the far-reaching capabilities of colour and its resourcefulness when transforming everyday scenarios into desirable realities. As her practice has been developing, she has continually incorporated and simplified the idea of architectural shapes. The opportunity for objects to be defined by the simple outline of the flat colours that fill them paired with angular geometric devices has become integral to her practice. She has become increasingly captivated by the intensified sensation of placelessness that floods the compositions and transforms an everyday scene into a puzzling sight that stops the image from being simply an admirable image into a visually engrossing experience.
