Antonio MARASCO
Nicastro 1896 – Firenze 1975 è stato un pittore, scultore e scrittore italiano, appartenente alla corrente artistica del futurismo.
Nato in Calabria, maturò la sua vocazione all’arte a Firenze dove ebbe la possibilità di conoscere Filippo Tommaso Marinetti e il suo nuovo movimento artistico a cui aderì e che approfondì con esperienze europee facendone una scelta propulsiva e conclusiva di vita e di esperienza artistica.
Creò nel 1932 il Movimento Futurista Indipendente, di cui fu leader indiscusso, presentato su Supremazia futurista, manifesto dei Gruppi Futuristi Indipendenti accettati e riconosciuti dallo stesso Marinetti.
Alla fine della seconda guerra mondiale, che sconvolse profondamente la sua vita ma non fiaccò la sua anima futurista, riprese le sue ricerche artistiche a Roma.
Morì a Firenze nel 1975.
