Spanish contemporary artist Cesar Delgado (b. Madrid, Spain) is known for his meticulous and imaginative approach to abstraction, often described as a scientific exploration of form and color.
In Souvenir 58 A (2013, edition 1 of 5), Delgado creates a dynamic visual universe where twisting, serpentine forms intertwine, resembling microscopic creatures under observation. Earthy browns and pure whites flow across the surface in intricate, almost baroque convolutions, while horizontal bands structure the composition with precision. The work evokes a dialogue between abstraction, scientific observation, and historical artistic references, including subtle nods to Kandinsky and the precise, impersonal brushwork reminiscent of Lichtenstein.
