C. Clinton's acrylic painting 'Stepping Back to Go Forward', is a 40 x 30 inch abstract painting in the deep greens, blues and earth tones of a densely shaded forest. From Clinton's 'Intuitive Navigation' series, this body of work is a developing story about memory, reflection and the passage of time. This acrylic painting on canvas is oriented vertically, unframed, and signed on the reverse.
C. Clinton is a Massachusetts-based contemporary painter. Her paintings are included in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Cheryl Clinton
Cheryl Clinton’s paintings are deeply rooted in the magic of light within the landscape, guided by a desire to make visible the mystery of intangible forces. Through a process of incrementally capturing shifting light and shadow, she evokes distinct moments in time. Her work draws parallels between the cyclical rhythms of nature and the evolution of personal experience, creating a contemplative space that bridges the seen and the unseen. Working intuitively, Clinton engages in a dynamic interplay between concept and material—a call-and-response process that fosters an ecosystem of creative discovery. Her goal is to craft visual spaces that embody spirit and act as passages between our world and one that may exist within or beyond it. Clinton holds a BFA in Painting from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Danforth Museum in Framingham, MA, and the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in Boston. Her paintings are held in the corporate collections of Meditech (Framingham, MA) and New England Bio Labs (Frankfurt, Germany), as well as numerous private collections in the U.S. and abroad. She is a founding member of Fountain Street Gallery.
