Artist Comments
The play of ocean, shoreline and sky can often interchange in one's mind. I created this painting with multiple controlled and raw pours of acrylic paint on canvas to achieve layered depth and interest. Blues, greens and grays blend to create pools of light and shadow. The painting can be displayed in either horizontal or vertical orientations as shown in the detail images.

About the Artist
From childhood on, Dorothy was always eager about painting. Her grandfather encouraged her to graduate from a finger-painting enthusiast to a more mature and serious artist. Dorothy’s approach to her abstract artwork entails pouring paint in transparent layers to create sweeping colors across the canvas. Regardless, she manages to stay true to her childhood roots: “To this day, my clothes and hands always reflect the colors I am working with,” says Dorothy. “And I once again rediscovered the joys of finger-painting with my children!”
