About the Item
Anticipation (2024) by Eozen Agopian is a vibrant mixed-media work measuring 10 x 8 inches, combining acrylic paint, hand-stitching, and textile elements—signature components of the artist’s practice. Agopian’s intricate threadwork interlaces painted fields of color with tactile layers of yarn and fabric, creating a dynamic tension between structure and improvisation. Earthy greens, ocean blues, and rich burgundy tones form a luminous backdrop for the linear stitching, which evokes both architectural grids and woven memories. The interplay of transparency, opacity, and texture invites close viewing, revealing the artist’s labor-intensive process. Rooted in her ongoing exploration of line, color, and material, Anticipation captures the meditative yet energetic spirit that defines Agopian’s work.

Eozen Agopian
About the Artist
Eozen Agopian Born in Athens, Greece, Eozen Agopian earned her BFA from Hunter College, NYC and then her MFA from Pratt Institute in 1993. Of Armenian descent, Agopian’s work has been shown both nationally and internationally across Greece, France, Russia, Italy, Germany, China, and the United States. Among her distinguished solo exhibitions are Overcrossing (2023, High Noon Gallery, NYC) Unfold (2019, Athens), The Fabric of Time (2018, Consulate General of Greece, New York), Persistent Dichotomies (2017, Fox Gallery NYC), Traverse (2015, Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery), and Paintings and Works on Paper (1993, Michael Walls Gallery, New York). In 2019, she was awarded a studio residency on Governors Island and was invited to collaborate with Officinenove in Rome, while also holding a residency at Project Studio PS122 in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
In her string paintings, Agopian weaves together fragments of canvas, fabric, thread, and paint to create textured, dimensional surfaces. These hybrid works defy fixed spatial logic, suggesting both movement and instability while evoking the layered nature of her personal and cultural experience. Her process is improvisational—part painting, part weaving, part personal archaeology—building and unbuilding layers and narratives in flux. As she has said of her own work, "I know it’s finished when I feel that it exists somewhere in the Universe."

Superbloom
Located in West Hollywood, CA
"Superbloom" is made with acrylic, oil pastel, paper, glitter, thread and clay on canvas and paper mache. This bright and vividly colored sculptural painting is a perfect example of the power of unrestrained creativity.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE WORK - What began as an experiment in creating rose petals slowly evolved into this deconstructed "Superbloom". At the center of these petals is a seemingly chaotic arrangement of color and texture. Yet, from slow observation, patterns and repetition emerge. What can be easily grouped into a "whole" is actually a balancing act of orchestrated parts - the same as every living organism we observe. There is a mystery to be savored in every act of living - as well as in viewing the traces of life left behind. "Superbloom" was made in love of the former, and leaves behind the latter. We'll never fully understand all the bits of a rose, or all the brushstrokes of a painting, but we're always welcome to bask in the sunshine that is loving without knowing.

Fils I Colors DCXIII - Contemporary Colorful Abstract Mixed Media Painting
By Raul de la Torre
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Barcelona native artist Raul de la Torre's vibrant abstract mixed media artworks pay homage to textiles. De La Torre allows the materials to take over during the process and collaborates with the unexpected to create works that speak to the natures of dynamism and unity. Experimentation with different materials, textures and techniques in each of his paintings has been a point of discovery and a major part of Raul de la Torre’s work. In his Fils I Colors series he attempts to find the third dimension through the use of different materials.
This colorful 30-inch high by 24-inch wide original artwork on canvas is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this artwork are painted white and it does not require framing. It is signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
The interaction between the artist, gravity, and the paint is important for the final result. A tilting technique permits the paint to be a major architect of the final result, giving it a life of its own. It results in infinite and timeless color combinations. In many cases, the different layers of color each represent a temporary state of mind, time, and even feelings, places and people. Some of them are embroidered forever in our memory turning to form part of our DNA. To represent the firmness and strength of that past the cotton is mixed with the paint in the works to form a unity.
Embroidery provides another layer as it creates thick shadows with organic shapes. De la Torre makes horizontal cuts on the canvas and covers these open areas using color matching cotton thread. When combined with light, these shapes create a more dynamic surface and offer different views of the work to various observers.
Raul de la Torre was born in Barcelona in 1964 and attended Massana Art School. About the Fils series, de la Torre remarks: “FILS I COLORS is an attempt to find life, movement and parts that are not static, that change in their interaction with the observer. The different combinations of colors represent different emotions and interpretations for each individual interacting with the works.”
Raul de la Torre's artworks can be found in the collections of The Four Seasons Abu Dhabi, the Tropicana Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, the Rothschild Family Collection, and varying Hilton properties. His works have been exhibited and collected worldwide.
