About the Item

Oil on canvas Fabia Kleinpeter, a German self-taught multidisciplinary artist born in 2000 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. She began her artistic journey in 2019 in the South of France under a star-filled night sky. It was a specific constellation of eight stars, uniquely shaped like a butterfly, that first sparked her creativity. From that moment, her pen became an unstoppable instrument, laying the groundwork for her eventual shift to canvas painting in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she has been based since 2020. In her works, she uses acrylic or oil paints with the aid of a spatula, creating vibrant, fluid abstractions that explore the interface between personal thought and collective memory. Her distinct approach to a black-and-white palette is designed to challenge perception, expanding the viewer's imagination by evoking three- dimensional depth. Her creative process was significantly refined following advice from fellow painter Luka Japaridze, who encouraged Fabia to translate her outstanding drawing style from paper to large canvases. The result was the monumental piece "Indikator" (2m x 1.8m), a significant milestone in her work. Beyond her paintings, DJIMBA uses video to complement her musical compositions, reflecting her passion for diverse modes of expression. Her art is driven by a central theme: the profound human need for connection, a thread that weaves through all of her creative endeavors. Her growing reputation is supported by several accomplishments, including an exhibition series named Mirrorhall and Mirrorhall II. in NewPlatform Georgia, such as a solo exhibition at the ArtMuse gallery in Tbilisi and the sale of a painting of the “Marao-Mosaik- series” to the artist community Nos-Revolution in Marseille, as well as the painting “In the bush jungle” to Café Nilo in Tbilisi. Recognition for her work extends to her hometown of Kraichtal near Karlsruhe, where she was featured on the cover of the “Kraichtalbote” newspaper and interviewed about her international career. Following that same interview, an additional article was published in the regional newspaper “Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung.” This was followed a year later by a second publication honoring her musical successes, vindicating her local relevance. These successes underscore the international appeal and recognition of her work. In her artworks, DJIMBA captures the fluid energy that lingers between visible colors—reminiscent of flowing lava within a volcano. Her canvases serve as portals into a cognitive sphere, inviting viewers to project their own consciousness and inhabit these abstract landscapes as an immersive, "offline" virtual world.

Return to Dust 40.0 x 48.0 x 2.0, 20.0 lbs Acrylic Hand signed by artist Artist's Commentary: "Return to Dust illustrates the drying out of the world through climate change. The spaces formerly known as oceans reveal remnants of what was formerly known as life, offering a hope of survival and future regrowth." About the Artist: Marlene Struss grew up in California dreaming of being an artist for as long as she can remember. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Santa Barbara in 1973, working with such esteemed instructors as Irma Cavat and Howard Warshaw. Over the years Struss has created bodies of work in media including printmaking, surrealistic montage, realistic pastel, painterly collage, digital paintings, and, at the present time abstract acrylic paintings on panel. Because she strives to succeed without succumbing to artistic trends and dictates, she has developed a highly individualistic style of painting that can be described as biomorphic abstract expressionism. Struss has made steady progress in her career by exhibiting broadly throughout the United States, some foreign countries, and online and being involved in the arts community in Santa Barbara, California. Among the awards she has received are the Individual Artist Award in Assemblage from the Arts Fund of Santa Barbara in 2004 and the Best in Show Award at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art in its Tri-County Juried Exhibition in 2019. Presently she is represented by 10 West Gallery and the Corridan Gallery and is a member of the Abstract Art Collective in Santa Barbara. She is also represented by Marina Kieser, art consultant catering to the movie and television industry, in North Hollywood. Struss's work can be seen in many television productions, including Man with a Plan, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Lucifer, NCIS LA, By the Book, New Girl...

Garden, Ashes, Painting, Oil on Canvas

This painting was created from a mental blueprint, drawn from a childhood experience of playing with mud. Muted colors are chosen for their mud-like tonalities, and the process was similar to a kid's play. The composition was not random although it might seem to be. Using mental drawing as the starting point, the first layers of paint were carefully applied with a brush and spatula. To make it viscous, the thick oil paint was thinned with linseed oil and turpentine and stirred with a kitchen mixer...
