About the Item
This artwork features a tangle of white and blue rectangles and basic geometrical shapes over a textured substrate. On the middle top, aquamrine/turquoise almost vertical bands fall from the top, and a dark red pile occupies the middle of the canvas.
Most of Françoise Duprat's works of the 21st century are inspired by the sea of the Gulf of Morbihan, and although this is an abstract painting, this may be interpreted as a marine landscape.
The artist used an impasto technique to create reliefs on the canvas before painting over. Therefore this artwork has pronounced yet not thick reliefs. The artist used both acrylic and oil painting.
This artwork is not framed.
Françoise Duprat is a French artist. She learned art at the Atelier Met de Penninghen and Jacques d'Andon (now known as ESAG Penninghen), installed in the mythical Académie Julian, and she is a graduate of the prestigious Académie de la Grande Chaumière (where studied also Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Louise Bourgeois, Jérôme Savary, Zao Wou-Ki, Amedeo Modigliani, Tamara de Lempicka, Alberto Giacometti, Balthus and many other great names of contemporary painting).
Despite her talent and mastery, Françoise Duprat cultivates a humble way of life and wants her artworks to be affordable to a large public.
