About the Item
Original Bay Area Figurative of Mother and Baby in Oil Paint on Laid Paper
Original oil painting depicting a modern twist of a mother and baby by Honora Berg (American, 1897-1985), circa 1950. A smiling, happy woman holds her infant. Composition is unique but balanced with baby's head at horizontal angle. Both figures have a "halo" over their heads overlaying a religious narrative depicting the virgin Mary's pride and contentment with her son. Dramatic black outlining emphasizing the figures and its backdrop gives additional drama to this painting.
