"Mosaic of Time" series
This work is a declaration of love to the present moment. It’s about that unexpected feeling of harmony born from the complexity and layered nature of life. The painting emerges from intuition, from following impulse — without a plan, without boundaries, but with an inner rhythm, freedom, and honesty.
Simple forms appear on the canvas — birds, sails, islands. They seem to surface from the multi-layered texture and lively brushstrokes, evoking a sense of shoreline, solitude, and peace. Despite the seeming chaos of strokes, there is a balance in the work — like an orchestra where each instrument plays at its own pace, yet together they create music.
This painting is about an inner shift: the realization that everything you’ve been searching for — is already here. “We” is not a dream of the future, but a state of presence, of valuing what already exists. It’s about a home that doesn’t need to be rebuilt — it already exists.
In the context of the Mosaic of Time series, this work is a reflection on how fragments, fleeting impressions, and feelings come together into a stable structure. It is a painterly practice of presence: finding grounding and resilience not through control, but through the ability to feel the moment.
Iryna Rets is a Ukrainian artist born in 1974 in Donetsk. She received education in clothing design. From 1993 to 2021, she successfully worked as a fashion designer,
participating in international exhibitions. In 2014, she moved to Kyiv, and in 2022,
she left fashion to focus on art. Iryna explores beauty through figurative and abstract
forms, offering viewers new perspectives on fragility and anti-fragility. Her clothing
design skills continue to inspire her creative process and contribute to the
development of new ideas in art.
Iryna Rets is a Ukrainian artist who explores fragility and anti-fragility as key themes
in her work. She transforms complex emotions and challenges into sources of inner
strength, zest for life, and harmony. Her art aims to prompt viewers to reconsider
