About the Item
Nebraka-based Jamie Burmeister is a sculptural artist known for his original artworks incorporating original small bronze figures, standing at just up to 4 inches tall. His unique figurative sculptural works have been showcased in galleries, museums, and public art installations worldwide, including notable venues like the Joslyn Art Museum and the Des Moines Art Center. Burmeister's work explores the human experience through humor and absurdity, with a recent focus on incorporating color, which he finds both challenging and inspiring. A recipient of multiple awards, including the 2016 Governor’s Art Awards Outstanding Artist, Burmeister earned his M.F.A. in Sculpture from the University of Nebraska in 2005.
• One-of-a-kind sculptural mixed media artwork on wood measuring 52 inches high by 12 inches wide by 2 inches deep
• Created with acrylic paint, bronze figures, and a bronze bucket
• Painted on a 48-inch high by 12-inch wide wood panel with integrated bronze elements
• Combines vivid color, dynamic movement, and sculptural details
• Certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included
• Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery
• Affordable U.S. and international shipping available
Adding a unique sculptural dimension, two small figurative sculptures and a small bronze bucket are thoughtfully placed along the top of the panel. The bronze figures create the narrative of this composition of two painters accidentally spilling a bucket of teal paint down the matte yellow face of the artwork. These miniature figures brings a playful narrative to the artwork, interacting with the painted surface and adding a tactile, three-dimensional quality.
Jamie Burmeister signed this original artwork on the back. The artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not need framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Burmeister's artistic journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of innovation and engagement with diverse audiences. His practice transcends conventional boundaries, as he often incorporates elements of street art and public installation, fostering an interactive experience that invites participation and reflection. The use of humor in his work acts as a catalyst for deeper engagement, allowing viewers to confront uncomfortable themes with a sense of levity. In addition to his gallery exhibitions, his commitment to community-oriented projects demonstrates a keen understanding of art’s potential to transform public spaces. His extensive exhibition history and numerous accolades, including multiple honors from the Nebraska Arts Council, highlight his significant contribution to the contemporary art landscape, positioning him as a vital voice in the discourse surrounding original sculptural art.

AWH 282 - Original Abstract Expressionist Bright Yellow Colorfield Oil Painting
By Bernhard Zimmer
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Bernhard Zimmer produces deeply layered, subtly textured abstract paintings that contain diametrically opposed elements—order and chaos, abstraction and representation, boldness and subtlety—in exquisite tension. Working with oil and mixed media on canvas, he paints in color fields of soft shapes and delicate lines. Grids of diaphanous faces and blocks of illegible text emerge in rich washes of color. Like reliefs, his compositions are built up from numerous layers of material and mark-making. Their surfaces shift with the light and the changing position of the viewer. Full of strength and fragility, Zimmer’s works reward patient viewing, revealing their rich visual nuances to those who take time to delve into their layers.
This 43 inch high by 35 inch wide original artwork is created with many layers of mixed media and oil on canvas. This painting is wired and ready to hang. The sides of the artwork are painted as a continuation of the front. It does not require framing. It is signed by the artist on the back of the artwork. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Whether figurative or abstract, Zimmer’s artworks inherently alter the feeling of a space. One is absorbed in contemplation as perfectly layered colors and etched hieroglyphic text vibrate from within. Zimmer’s work oscillates between the Geometric Abstraction of Josef Albers and the sublimely layered color fields of Mark Rothko; with added figures that seem to be composed of shadows. This tension between form, color, and text creates canvases with glowing compositions that reverberate with emotion.
Bernhard Zimmer was born in 1957 in Stuttgart, Germany. From 1978 to 1984, he completed his education in Cultural Studies at Hildesheim. Zimmer continues to live and work in Cologne. He has exhibited in Hanover, Munich, Dusseldorf, Basel, Gent, Hong Kong, and Singapore to name a few. Zimmer has created a positive stir at major international art fairs such as Art Basel and Kunst Köln. His mysterious compositions pique the taste of the serious art collector.
Artspace Warehouse has been representing and exhibiting Bernhard Zimmer's original artworks since 2010. The gallery has been a 1stdibs partner since 2014 with consistently excellent reviews from clients worldwide. The gallery exhibits a large selection of affordable original artworks from established and emerging international artists with diverse backgrounds at high standards.
