Artist Lisa Carney expresses a lush open field blanketed with blue and green flowers in this abstract composition. She uses a drip painting technique that consists of splashing the paint spontaneously onto the canvas. Lisa harmoniously blends each color with one another, applying it in thick and thin layers to add more texture. The resulting garden is colorful, vibrant and alive.

About the Artist
Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth's layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
