About the Item
A color-filled abstract expressionist oil painting by Italian artist, Lorenzo Tornabuoni.
Tornabuoni was an Italian artist, born in Rome in 1934. He was the son of a richly cultured family with noble origins. He spent the early years of his life in Italy and East Africa, where he was exposed to rich and varied cultures, and visual stimuli.
Tornabuoni began painting in 1950 and had his first solo exhibition held at the L'Obelisco Gallery in Rome in 1962. Throughout his life he exhibited his works in many famous Italian galleries and in artistic exhibitions including the Michetti Painting Prize of Francavilla a Mare in 1966, the Tempo dell'Immagine in Bologna in 1967, and the Fourth Biennial of Bolzano in 1971.
This work dates from 1963 and is an oil on board.
It measures 19.75 x 21,75 inches sight size, and 23.25 x 25.25 x 2 inches overall including the framing.
