About the Item
Lynn Sanders is an artist excited by beauty: architecture, foliage, landscapes, seascapes, interiors. She finds palettes and shapes in her environment and propels them into her work, believing in the power of art to stimulate a person’s environment and state of mind.
Intuitive in nature, Lynn’s painting process is chaotic, and its speed and intensity are often reflective of her current emotions. She begins her process using a tool that she designed to apply custom colors mixed with various mediums to the canvas. Working primarily in acrylics and ink, she achieves chemical reactions that enhance the composition. Her tool allows her to apply the paint at a pace that reflects her impatient nature. This process achieves deep tones layered with transparent shapes. Her long relationship with this application technique has allowed her to develop an innate understanding of the precise amount of pressure and paint needed to achieve her signature aesthetic.
With a focus on process over concept, Lynn’s pieces invite the viewer to ponder the technique and imagery. Her satisfaction comes from knowing that her pieces speak her own unique visual language.
Lynn resides in Lafayette, Louisiana with her husband and son, as well as her beloved pets.

Wild Flowers
By Novi Lim

Artist commentary:
I like to transport my mind to a calming place, inspired by memories, and complex organic elements found in nature. Playing with colors and movement, creating new compositions -- my best work comes when there is freedom to create without any strict plan. With intuition and spontaneity taking over, the result is often a surprise. To me, everything flows, and there is always a sense of balance and harmony that can emerge out of disorder. I love the ambiguous and mysterious nature of abstraction. Through self-discovery and experimentation, I am allowing dynamic energy that manifests through the joy of creating. The result is loose interpretations of anything that exists between the mind and reality, therefore each painting is unique and sometimes inexplicable.
About the Artist:
Ethereal and calming, Novi Lim's painting transports its audience to a land that is both dreamlike yet familiar. Lim Finds inspiration in the natural world, and seeks to capture their essence through an organic and sensory creative process. In the artist's own words: "Often, imagining a mythical flower that blooms and lit up in the nighttime or seeing something as simple as the calming gradient of the colorful sky at sundown, or the surface of water that glimmers which makes me wonder about the mystery of the deepest oceans -- piqued my creative process and subliminal stimuli." Guided by instinctive feeling, Lim lets the movements of her paintbrush flow as she experiments with atmospheric lighting, transparency, and color. The result is an ambiguous landscape that treads between the subconscious and waking world.
