Paul Tamanian's energetic mixed-media paintings include using automobile paint, inks, raw pigments, acrylics applied through spilling, seeping, brushing, throwing, splattering, abrading, sanding, scraping and reapplying his media on thin sheets of aluminum. Paul Tamanian has forged a remarkable visual vocabulary in painted and shaped metal. From great sculptural forms to small, intimate 3-dimensional works, to large, multi-panel wall paintings, the astounding breadth of his work has won Tamanian wide recognition here and abroad. Paul's visual style is very expressionistic and contemporary and uniquely his own.
