About the Item
Peter Kramer (Denmark, 1959) says that he works to occupy as much of his time as possible and the paintings and sculptures are the result of that activity, of that fear of emptiness. His works are the trace of the path traveled or the drool of the snails, written in his own words. With "The thin red line", a work that the artist presents in the exhibition "Art is a conflict" at the Galeria Manolo Eirin curated by TUSET, he talks about the references of war literature and cinema from which he drinks from his childhood. In this painting of hundreds of thousands of knots of cotton pasted on a frame we can only glimpse a thin red line that alludes to the soldiers in the battle line, in the trench, when they cross that line death is almost assured and the void is immense. With this painting, Peter highlights his way of seeing the world from a minimalist perspective and loaded with symbolism both in the technique, as in the theme and in the form / support that he uses.
