Her passion for exploring the tactile qualities and intricacies of natural materials began at an early age in Lithuania, where she was enveloped by the enchanting beauty of lush forests. These serene surroundings provided her with a sanctuary, a place where she could break free from the rigid structures of everyday life. It was here that she discovered the freedom to explore and create her own interpretations of the world around her.

Rachel Ovadia
“I am inspired to see works of art in contemporary settings. It elevates my senses and motivates me to visualize in my mind what I am attempting to achieve, to dare and explore new ways in moving towards new opportunities.” Rachel Ovadia For more than twenty-five years, Rachel Ovadia has pursued an artistic practice. Her early influences were both European and Asian cultures. Ovadia is particularly drawn to Spanish art, which she credits as playing a significant role in her becoming ‘more expressive and daring’ in her artwork. The work of Antoni Tapies, a famous Catalan abstract expressionist painter and sculptor, has inspired her own artistic journey. Ovadia was born in Lithuania and studied art at the University of Vilnius, the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts, the Florence Art Academy and the University of Toronto. A multidisciplinary contemporary artist, her extensive portfolio has explored and experimented with abstract form in various mediums, including painting, drawing, etching and sculpture. She is known for her philanthropic endeavours and her dedication to giving back to the communities she has lived in. Ovadia has also collaborated with distinguished designers in North America to create artwork that graces the interiors of several hotels, resorts, luxury residences and restaurants. Rachel Ovadia has exhibited internationally, including galleries in Japan, China, London, Paris, Brussels, in Canada and the U.S. Her artwork can be found in both public and private collections. She currently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.

Debra Drexler is an American painter, installation artist, curator and professor. Her work is informed both by participating in the contemporary resurgence of abstraction coming out of New York, and by living in the Post Colonial Pacific since 1992. She has participated in over thirty solo and over 100 group exhibitions in national and international venues including Front Room Gallery, Exit Art, The Drawing Center, White Box-The Annex, Art Finance Partners, Van Der Plas Gallery, Sideshow Gallery, and Denise Bibro Gallery in New York, as well The Honolulu Museum of Art and Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Debra Drexler is a Professor at the University of Hawaii, where she is Chair of the Drawing and Painting Area. She maintains studios in Brooklyn, NY and on the island of Oahu in Hawai’i. Debra Drexler's most recent work is highly experimental large-scale abstract painting. In a recent review of a two-person exhibition (Whitehot Magazine,2017) Drexler's work as clearly referencing the long tradition of American abstraction and the established legacy of the New York School. The reviewer, Jonathan Goodman, described the work as a “new non-objectivity” that comes out of the current moment. He states that Drexler's painting “quite accurately describes the spirit of abstract art today, in which painting is struggling to break free of the constraints of time."
