About the Item
A native of New Orleans, Taney Roniger has been living in New York since the 1990s.
After graduating with a BFA from New York’s School of Visual Arts, she received her
MFA from Yale University in Painting and Printmaking, also studying philosophy and
East Asian religions. Over the last thirty years her work has been shown in numerous
venues in the States and abroad. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors,
including three fellowships from Yaddo in New York, a Pollock-Krasner grant, and, most
recently, a Trellis Art Fund Founders grant. A teacher at the School of Visual Arts since
2007, she is also an art writer and former critic for The Brooklyn Rail in New York.
