"In this painting, the Golden Gate Bridge is shown bustling with traffic across every lane of its mile-wide roadway. Both towers, the cables, and the steel deck of the suspension bridge stand, reddish-orange, in contrast against the blue waters of the strait and the fleeciness of the cloud.
For anyone who grew up in Tahoe as Thomas Easley did, San Francisco was their nearby “big city,” full of energy and wonder and things just waiting to happen. You wouldn’t be wrong to imagine this depiction is meant to be reminiscent of the Greek Isles and their powerful mythologies."
