About the Item
As with most abstract paintings, one wants to find some sort of figural depiction within the overall composition of the work. Having owned this painting for quite a few years, I have concluded that it most likely represents the energetic nature of a city, from above and at night. Acrylic or oil on a solid wood board, the explosion of colors has a definite pattern that could very well represent the built pattern of a large city. The work is not signed and by the age of the board and what appears to be the original frame, it appears to be 1980’s.
The painting measures 19” x 24 1/4” and wi the walnut frame 20” x 25 1/4”. The frame has a silvered finish on its outer edge and has small gaps at the corners that appear intentional. Both the painting and the frame are in good condition with no real issues to report. Because of the painting’s application to a wood board, the piece weights about twelve pounds, but is easily hang able.
