Although Fiori was born in Ohio, she grew up in Great Bend, Kansas before moving to Colorado to attend Loretto Heights College, where she received her BFA. However, after she graduated in 1952, she discovered her passion for anthropology, and in 1979, she received a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Denver. Fiori was fortunate to work as a curatorial assistant to Richard Conn in the Native Arts Department of the Denver Art Museum. The Denver Art Museum was the first Fine Art Museum in the United States to show Native American Art. The pottery and textiles from the Southwestern tribes inspired Fiori’s fascination with geometric designs and like many of her contemporary artists, it contributed to her shift towards abstract painting. In 1987, Fiori met Dale Chisman, a prominent Colorado artist, and studied under him at the Art Students League of Denver until 2007. She also met and studied alongside other talented Colorado artists including Bill Joseph, Jeffery Keith, Quang Ho, and Mark Lunning. Fiori exhibited her artwork for over 30 years in Colorado, Indiana, Illinois, and New York.

Henriette “Yetti” Stolz Mid-Century Abstract Landscape Oil Painting
Located in Denver, CO
This mid-20th-century abstract landscape by American modernist Henriette “Yetti” Stolz beautifully blends stylized natural forms with expressive color fields. Painted in rich, earthy tones of gold, brown, orange, and blue, the composition presents a rhythmic forest scene where trees are distilled into bold vertical shapes and layered hues. Stolz’s modernist approach emphasizes structure and emotion over realism, creating a landscape that feels both grounded and dreamlike.
Executed in oil on canvas and signed on the back, the painting reflects Stolz’s deep engagement with modernist ideas circulating through Colorado in the 1950s and 1960s. Influenced by artists such as Mary Chenoweth...

This contemporary, abstract painting was created by Hudson Valley based artist, Ragellah Rourke in 2019. Her most recent body of work focuses on relationships between color and space. Elements of symbolism, reminiscent of Gustav Klimt, decorate the composition with abstract markings and calligraphic gestural brushwork. Warm yellow and gold tones with hints of green radiate upwards into a background of pastel pink, recalling the awaking the nature during the beginning of spring. There is wire installed on the back for easy hanging. The painting’s sides are cleanly painted so additional framing is optional.
Artist Statement:
My paintings are very textural and built up slowly over long periods of time. The surface holds the memory of the painting’s development, all the time looking for clues for what will come next. I look for connections between the forms that develop. They are never something that I logically calculate, but rather a long string of chances, thoughts, and guesses. The appearance and meaning develop throughout the progression of the painting. It is a continuous search for resolution, balance and mystery within the painting.
