DESCRIPTION:
This vibrant painting, titled "The Dreamer's Ascent," is a dreamlike composition that blends domestic intimacy with cosmic surrealism. The piece centers on a reclining figure—appearing to be in a state of deep rest or contemplation—merged into a warm, flesh-toned landscape that suggests a bed and a boundless desert.
A white cat with expressive, pink-cheeked features stretches across the foreground, its body elongated as if defying gravity. The feline is tethered to a red, sled-like structure or swing, creating a sense of kinetic energy that pulls the eye upward toward a tumultuous, violet sky.
Artistic Observations
Color Contrast: The artist utilizes a bold, non-naturalistic palette, pitting the fiery warmth of the "earth" against a heavy, saturated purple sky and a singular, blood-red sun.
Texture
Gesture: The sky is rendered with expressive, swirling brushstrokes that suggest movement and emotional turbulence, contrasting with the flatter, more meditative application of paint on the figure.
Thematic Depth: The work explores the fluidity of the subconscious, where the boundary between the physical self and the external environment dissolves, leaving only a surreal journey led by a companion animal.
Tenderness and softness of childhood
Is it a girl/teenager or a girl who is becoming a woman?
wild and ferocious cat.Protective or attacking?
caring or jealous?
Love, passion, frendship.
Storm with blue clouds.
Sunrise or sunse.Perhaps the moon in fever of lust?

Aureum is an internationally renowned visual artist with the background in fine art and interior design. Antique and vintage furniture, contemporary and modern art and accessories inspire her. Anastasia's creations are characterized by a wide range of styles. Surrealism, realism and abstraction are merged in a passionate art dance. Embracing, discovering and penetrating each other, they take on new forms and shades in every new painting.
