This contemporary oil painting features a striking, rhythmic arrangement of twelve horses. Structured into four horizontal rows, each row contains three horses. In each alternating row, the animals face opposite directions, creating a visual cadence that draws the eye across into a zigzag pattern. The equines are identical within their rows, all stylized and uniform, emphasizing repetition.
About the Artist
Artist Alana Clumeck creates contemporary animal paintings that blend bold form with symbolic meaning. “Since my discovery of art came as a form of therapy, I still use it to paint out my thoughts or feelings,†says Alana. Raised in Australia by artistic parents who ran a pottery studio from their home, Alana was surrounded by creativity from an early age. Her own journey into painting began while pregnant with her second child, when a deep need for self-expression led her to pick up a brush. What started as personal therapy soon became a passionate career. Alana now paints from her home studio, where she balances creative flow with the rhythms of motherhood. When she’s not in the studio, she’s likely adventuring outdoors with her children.

Alana Clumeck
Alana Clumeck was raised by artistic parents who owned a pottery studio during her youth. Although she grew up throwing pots, it wasn’t until she was pregnant with her second child that she began painting as creative therapy. For Clumeck, being an artist is entwined with motherhood. She works from her home studio, so she often paints while watching her children play. When the kids are at school, painting becomes precious meditative time alone. “Since my discovery of art came as a form of therapy, I still use it to paint out my thoughts or feelings,” says Clumeck. “I will often use symbolism within my paintings to represent how I feel.”
