About the Item

This oil-on-canvas work, Kiki, is a personal piece of young Lithuanian artist. The small-scale work captures her kitten resting in layered plaids - artist creates her works as if she were writing a diary where her beloved pets become central figures of her works. It's Diana's form of visual journaling, with each piece reflecting her daily experiences and observations. Diana is primarily recognized for her large mixed-thread textile works created with tufting techniques, as well as pastel and watercolor works on paper. Remeikyte’s works have been featured internationally, including DUENDE in Madrid, which highlighted Lithuanian textile art, and Vilnius Vibes at the Anger Museum in Erfurt, Germany, showcasing the dynamism of contemporary art from the capital of Lithuania. She is also the first textile artist whose works have been acquired by Lithuania’s MO Museum, the country’s leading contemporary art institution. The museum purchased all the works from her debut exhibition with her gallery, marking the first time fiber art became part of its collection. Includes certificate of authenticity.
