A delightful original oil on canvas painting of a mother cat relaxing in a basket with her two kittens, signed lower right by the British artist Edith A. Penn. The exact date is not known but the canvas is stamped "G. Rowney
Co., London W.", an artist supply company trading under this name from 1923-1985. Biographical details of the artist are unavailable but her paintings of cats appear in auctions from time to time and are still very popular today.
