Esteban Chavez is a prolific painter and master printmaker based in the New York City area. His monumental etchings and lithographs push the boundaries of printmaking at times resulting in hand sewn paper tapestries. The works are designed to inhabit the space as architectural elements. Mr. Chavez's prints are in the permanent collections in the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the MOMA in Wakayama, Japan, and the Smithsonian Museum.
The paintings are created in the realist figurative tradition which he learned when attending the Yale School of Art.
