You’re standing in a softly lit room where the afternoon sun filters through gauzy curtains. The air feels golden, thick with warmth and color. Before you, a vase of flowers—bright reds and oranges—seems to shimmer rather than stand still, their petals more sensation than shape. Two cats share the scene: one perched calmly near the window, the other seated below, as if watching dust motes drift in the light.
The artist doesn’t draw with lines but with feelings. Every brushstroke is loose and suggestive, dissolving edges and blending tones—pale blues into oranges, warm ochres into muted grays. The cats aren’t fully formed; they’re ghosts of motion and mood, resting within the soft hum of the room. Gloria Sáez
Gloria Sáez is an Avila, Spain-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscapes, color relationships, reflections and the play of textures.
Sáez began her training at the School of Fine Arts in Avila, Spain, and later graduated from the University of Salamanca with honors in painting, sculpture and printmaking. She was awarded a Sócrates-Erasmus scholarship to study at the Escola Superior de Tecnología, Gestáo in Portugal. In 2003 Sáez became an honorary professor and collaborator at the School of Fine Arts at La Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has had exhibitions throughout Europe, Africa and the United States.
