About the Item
"Little Bear" is a captivating mid-century oil painting by American artist Harold Vincent Skene (1883–1978). This traditional Western landscape, painted in the 1950s, features a striking scene of a brown or black bear crossing a fallen log over a stream, set against a vivid backdrop of lake reflections, evergreen trees, and majestic rocky mountains. The golden glow of sunlight bathes the peaks, while a serene blue sky stretches above—evoking the raw beauty of the American West.
Executed in oil on board, the palette includes rich tones of golden yellow, earthy brown, forest green, sky blue, and soft white, lending depth and warmth to the scene. The painting is housed in a custom gold-toned frame that complements its natural color scheme.

This vintage 1940s oil on canvas painting by Colorado artist Irene Fowler (1884–1969) beautifully captures the vibrant autumn landscape of Boulder Canyon.
