This work is a visual expression of the state where protection turns into tension, and inner vulnerability hides behind aggression. Prickliness here is not about attack — it’s about boundaries. It is a way of preserving the self, of holding space when others come too close — physically, emotionally, or mentally.
Through imagery that both attracts and repels, Iryna explores how subconscious fears and lived experience shape our interactions with the world. The work poses a question: is aggression always a threat? Or could it be a form of defense, a signal of pain, a cry for space?
