Inspired by the beauty and intricate details of nature, artist Karen Barton captures the essence of what she observes in the world around her, especially in her own backyard. "I am particularly drawn to the delicate beauty of hummingbirds and butterflies," says Karen. Her paintings are created through a blend of observation, imagination, photography, and research. Using both brushwork and a palette knife, she manipulates the paint to create contrasting colors and textures. When she's not painting, Karen enjoys tending to her flower garden and baking artisanal breads.
