About the Item

Wilds Birds Dutch School, 17th century Circle of Melchior d'Hondecoeter (Dutch, 1636-1695) framed: 52.5 x 46 inches canvas: 50 x 44 inches provenance: private collection, UK condition: very presentable and ready to enjoy. This grand large scale Dutch Old Master oil painting dates to the second half of the 17th century. It is of Dutch authorship and resembles in every respect the work of the Dutch painter, Melchior d'Hondecoeter (1636-1695). The appears to be unsigned though might have been 'cut down' or reduced in size over the centuries, as was common due to house sizes reducing as time has gone by. The painting today makes wonderful interior design and it is just as ideal for a large, grand country house interior or a modern town house or apartment. It is a real statement piece and painted with exceptional quality.
