About the Item
Having a father in the Air Force Burgees traveled and lived in many different cities throughout his life such as England, Germany, and Cyprus. And at age 19 he joined the Royal Airforce as a photographer and began to sketch the wildlife he saw on his travels. These sketches then turned into oil paintings. Burgees is the only living wildlife artist selected to participate in the Coer d’Alene Art Auction. He mostly paints animals that he sees while traveling but he also paints sporting scenes such as this one. Burgess has also painted aviation pictures for the US airforce and the Royal Canadian Airforce.
