About the Item

Up for sale is a beautiful original painting by Valentine Thomas GARLAND (1868-1914). Garland was a painter of animal and genre subjects, working in both oil and watercolor. He was the son of the artist Henry Garland of Winchester. He exhibited many works at the Royal Academy betwen 1868 and 1914, as well as at the Suffolk Street Galleries and at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. The painting here is soo realistic and photographic! Incredible quality Painting depicts jack Russell’s, Hounds, Terriers Painting originally sold at auction in Bonhams New York and titled “I'll keep Watch, while You let Them out (1897)” I’ve attached a screenshot form the auction February 2002 Valentine Thomas Garland Oil on canvas 14x10 inches sight 20x16 overall with frame Signed dated lower right 1897 Very good original condition Private collection Long Island New York
