About the Item
Victor Joseph Gatto: 1893-1965. Very well listed American primitive artist. He is best known for these whimsical paintings in the jungle. This little gem measures 9 inches high by 6 inches wide and is an oil on canvasboard. it is signed lower left to the center. He has had Auction results over $28,000. This piece was most likely painted in the 1940s or 50s. The matte measures 10 inches high by 8 inches wide. The frame that it came in, was falling apart and was not the correct frame for this beautiful piece. I will let the lucky buyer pick out their own frame as opposed to me, framing it.. His works have become very collectible, and therefore harder to find.
