It lives in most of the eastern and central United States; some eastern populations may be migratory. Resident populations are also in Newfoundland, Canada; breeding populations are found across southern Canada. Blue Jays primarily symbolize protection, 🕊️divinity, selflessness, honesty, and kindness It also has a long history of being considered an omen of good fortune. 💰 💫The sighting of a blue jay is often considered to be an omen of good luck, prosperity, and divine guidance. V....Vaughan is known for impressionist paintings of wildlife, western themes, scenes in Italy, France and all things Texas . Her paintings are part of the permanent collection of the Gadsen Alabama Museum of Art, the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art (in NE) and the Great Plains Art Museum at the University of Nebraska, as well as in countless private collections. She is a dedicated blogger and teacher of art! Since 2021, she has conducted yearly workshops at a castle in France, where artists get to live and enjoy art making and life in a 12th century castle all to themselves. A lifelong Texan, Vaughan has lived her lifetime in the Austin area of Central Texas. As a child, she exhibited a love of making art and played the role of the creative one among the seven children in her family. She began a graphic arts career at 16, first designing for the businesses owned by her siblings but eventually rising to creative director at several Austin area agencies. “My big family always conveyed to me that my art was a God-given talent,” she says. “Somehow that made me feel that it was something I was supposed to do. This gave me permission to pursue it.” Vaughan attended college on athletic scholarship, though she filled her schedule with art classes and subsequently secured an internship at an advertising agency. That introduction to the corporate world set her off in a new direction—she left school to parlay the summer job into a full-time position. She continued to work as a commercial artist for several years, winning prestigious ADDY Awards and working on high-profile accounts including Samsung, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, RockSports and Harcourt Publishing. Marriage and children prompted her move into free-lance agency work, illustration, design and personal projects. Her most notable efforts have included “Big Fun Maps”, RockSports T-Shirt lines of sports designs, and as a fine art painter, and instructor. Her renowned solo exhibit, "Last Year on the Farm” traveled the USA in 2010 and received national exposure. “I paint because it’s the best way I know to communicate, study, and SHARE the many wonders of creation”. Her paintings are part of the permanent collection of the Gadsen Museum of Art, the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art and the Great Plains Art Museum as well as in countless private collections. Also shown are several other paintings by Virginia Vaughan available.

Golden Treetops Conejos River in southern Colorado cottonwood trees sun rays
Located in Houston, TX
Golden Treetops Conejos River in southern Colorado cottonwood trees sun rays 8" x 10" Framed The 93-mile-long Conejos River, a tributary of the Rio Grande, drains the eastern San Juan Mountains, which features some of the San Luis Valley’s most incredible scenery. Flowing from snowmelt beginning just northeast of Pagosa Springs, the Conejos meets up with the Rio Grande about 15 miles southeast of Alamosa; just south of there, it’s dammed at the Platoro Reservoir, which controls flooding and irrigation for San Luis Valley agriculture. Much of Conejos County was ceded to the United States in land grants from the Mexican government in the mid-19th century, and settlements along the river popped up here, thanks in part to plentiful fishing. Mostly wide and shallow, the river only occasionally has steep descents, and near Antonito, Colorado, it’s home to some truly spectacular fly-fishing. The beautiful, remote Conejos River Valley, just west of tiny Antonito, Colorado, is home to rugged cliffs, including The Pinnacles (a popular whitewater rafting destination), and wide-open meadows perfect for casting. It’s basically home to every type of trout imaginable, and it’s not hard to see why fly-fishermen come from all over the American West to check out the Conejos. Aspen Grove, Oil Painting
By Teresa Smith
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Teresa Smith displays a picturesque impressionist landscape of Aspen groves. "Autumn is here," declares Teresa. The leaves slowly turn a crisp, bright yellow. The sunny fall day along the shoreline brings inspiration from its vivid colors.

About the Artist
Teresa Smith captures the soul of the west coast landscape in her contemplative oil paintings. Teresa gathers impressions of the land around her remote island home on horseback rides accompanied by her Irish wolfhound. Her works capture the light coming through the trees, a richness of color, and the interconnectedness of nature. Her subjects emerge through lyrical brushwork, sometimes with light streaming as if through a stained glass window. Her major influences are Georgia O’Keeffe, Emily Carr, and the Canadian Group of Seven, the latter of whom pioneered a distinctive style defined by a direct connection with nature. In addition to painting, Teresa is a master gardener, and she grows food year-round in her garden and volunteers in the community to educate and diagnose plant problems. She works from her studio on the top floor of a barn overlooking the pond and trees, where deer walk by and ducks swim. According to Teresa, "much of today’s art is based on concept. That is, the artist has an idea, then uses their art to educate and inform. I do contemplative painting, which is different. For me, it is allowing the painting to unfold in a contemplative or meditative way."
