Do you see it? The face. It is right in front of you. It is like looking for your glasses that are on top of your head. FUN, right?!
Are you so captured by the scent of a flower that you forget to look for the face? Does seeing a face in the flower change your attitude or perspective about the flower? Or about flowers in general?
The started with a canvas that wanted orange. The joy of a flower then began to play and ended by taking up the whole stage, I mean canvas. :-)
Then the flower wanted to tell everyone, 'I have a face! Look how colorful and pretty.'
This work can be hung in any direction depending on your own perspective in the moment. How powerful is that?!
One flower reaching to the edges of the canvas with one face at the center almost hiding.
A sort of reflection on life - beauty that is so distracting you miss the message.

Arlette Stella
Arlette Stella is an abstract painter with occasional work that expresses surrealism. She is self-taught, late-blooming and unstoppable. Her work is characterized by bold colors, since she is mainly color-blind and needs bold colors to see the work. Arlette’s philosophical nature is the basis for her work. Every work is the result of a conversation she has had with canvas, paints and colors.
Each work aims to incur, inspire, and maybe even nudge (kick you in the yeah-butt!) the viewer to experience and act on kindness. Arlette states clearly: Kindness is my brand!
Arlette Stella is an artist member of the San Diego Artist Guild of the San Diego Museum and of the Artist Guild of Palm Springs/Palm Desert, among other artist groups.
