About the Item
CAMILLA CLARK - My abstract paintings are often an expression of a feeling or an emotion and using the paint to describe on the canvas. GLADE HOLLOW- Broad sweeps of verdant green dominate this canvas suggesting dense foliage and soft moss. Against this lush backdrop, vibrant accents of pink emerge diffused like scattered blossom and portals of warm light. A balance of tranquility and vibrancy mean this painting could enhance any room with a personal piece of a private glade. Original acrylic and mixed media (often charcoal, ink, pastel and pencils) this painting is ready to hang in a contemporary white wooden tray frame. Camilla's degree in art and architecture and a previous career in interior design have all influenced her deep understanding of colour, texture and composition. Her paintings are held in private collections in the UK, USA and Europe.
Camilla has spent most of her life surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside from the rolling hills to the calm expanses of the Somerset levels and her environment has always informed her paintings. She gained a BA Honours degree in Art History followed by an Interior Design Diploma, and both these disciplines have fed into her deep understanding of colour, shape and the academics of painting construction.
She has been a passionate full-time artist for over 20 years and over 10 years teaching and works primarily in Oils and Acrylics. A move to the dramatic South Hams coast in 2021 means the clarity of light and a completely different landscape has stimulated a new exciting phase where her paintings have become an expressive balance of abstract and figurative. The dynamic layers and flashes of colour create paintings full of coastal atmosphere.
