About the Item
WOMAN Standing is an original acrylic painting by Denise Souza Finney. This 24 x 36" piece has paint finished sides and is ready to hang. This piece is an exposition on women. I have been drawing the female figure for more than twenty years, more specifically, I have drawn the same group of women during that time. From all of those sketches a series of paintings has developed that group certain poses together, this one being standing poses. But the paintings are not just sketches of women standing, they are much more than that. Our time together is a collective experience of women posing nude for each other as well as a telling of the many stories that are told about our lives and the things that we share in our individual experiences.
