About the Item
Original gouache of a fish and coral by Wiener Werkstatte artist, Ena Rottenberg. Signed with her initials on the lower right edge of the image. Likely a design for a porcelain plate. Rottenberg (1893-1962) was a student of Michael Powolny at the Vienna Applied Arts School. She worked for the firm of Curt Schlevogt and went on to design ceramics porcelain for the Wiener Werkstatte among other places in Vienna.

Ena Rottenberg
Ena Rottenberg was a student of Michael Powolny at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She went on to design ceramics and ivory and painted objects for the Wiener Werkstätte and other outlets in Vienna, as well as engraved and enameled glass for Lobmeyr.
