About the Item

Antique Victorian, Impressionist 19th century English oil, Fishings boat at Sea. Adolphus Knell was a superb painter of marine subjects during the middle of the 19th century. His work is collected all over the world and many are in important collections. Knell painted in glazes of Color. He used transparent paint mixed with varnish which gives his work a watery appearance. With this painting, the artist is showing his skill and his inspiration from the great Master J.M.W Turner. This piece is in excellent condition and has been framed in a new hand made gold frame. This is a perfect painting for almost any room in a home, like a bedroom, study, den, family room, hallway, dining room
