Etienne Cail est né en 1991.
C’est dans le cadre de l’atelier deSèvres, qu’Etienne Cail conforté par ses pairsdécidera de prendre son envol dans le mondedes peintres.Nous somme en 2009, il n’a alors que 18 anset affaire rarissime il a déjà trouvé son style,sa « pâte ». Après la représentation de l’atelier qu’il a réalisé sous tous les angles, EtienneCail s’est engagé à construire « ses gueules »,des adversaires qu’il défiera à grand coup de pinceaux.
Au coeur des ateliers de cette Chine actuelle il découvre cet art à la fois puissant et subtil. Ici, les rebelles du monde de l’art ne sont pas des dissidents au sens strict du terme, ils se battent pour l’indépendance de la
création dans un pays où la liberté est encadrée. Cette capacité à créer une force intelligible malgré ces contraintes force l’admiration du jeune peintre qui se retourne sur d’anciennes provocations artistiques qu’il jugera dés lors trop faciles.Dés son retour en France, la création d’une nouvelle série de portraits appuient déjà cette nouvelle maturité et un nouveau projet prend parallèlement vie autour d’un songe: si tous les grands moments de l’histoire et les plus grands chefs...
