About the Item
We are proud to have recently discovered, “The Sophisticate”, by American artist Alexander Rosenfeld.
Rosenfeld was classically trained in fine art painting in Poland before settling in The United States in 1924. During this year he met Mrs. Samuel Goldwin who brought the artist top Los Angeles where she hosted an exhibition of his work at her home. Shortly thereafter, Rosenfeld began a film career that spanned many decades, including paintings and murals for the films, “The ten Commandments”, and Cleopatra.”
“Elegance”, is large original oil on canvas, with an image dimension of 43 x 33, signed, dated 1938, set within the original gold leafed frame, an elegant work by Rosenfeld that has been just discovered.
