The artist Anca Benera was fascinated at the beginning of her artistic projects by the Japanese manga way of representations.
Her feminine portraits represented also in the center of the canvas are oversized and all the time surrounded by unusual creatures coming for the sky. The viewer has all the time the feeling that is in front of a stop - frames or a slow - motion like in the manga movies. The colors are bright and vivid a reminiscent of pop art influence. Her characters are in a permanent state of imponderability.

I want my paintings to be mysterious, beautiful, assertive, and to have their own inner dialog. The artists who inspire me change with each piece, but I was substantially influenced by Manet’s Olympia, de Kooning, Schiele, and Warhol."
