In the painter's eyes, painting is an anthem of elegance and of beauty, as music. This artwork is a symbolist oil painting by Andrée Bars.
Andrée Bars is a French painter. Having been strictly trained for 4 years by the American hyper-realist painter Mr. Ted Seth Jacobs, who himself inherited 19th century masters’ skills from his own professor, Andrée Bars learned the profession of painting in its purest tradition. She still applies these ancient masters’ technics on her art. Each painting contains at least three layers of oil paint.
Andrée Bars applies her skills to hyperrealism on surrealist ideas. Although her paintings copy the reality to the extreme, they can not be qualified in a simple term of hyperrealism nor of trompe-l’oeil style, her artworks distinguish themselves for a kind of mysterious sweetness they convey to the spectator.
During her professional painter’s career of more than 20 years, Andrée Bars has been invited by numerous art fairs and salons in France and in Europe to exhibit her artworks, and was awarded numerous prizes, among which the prestigious Golden Great Prize of the Vittel Salon (“Grand Prix de la ville de Vittel, Or”) in 2016 and the Silver Medal awarded by the Society of French Artists in the Grand Palais, also in 2016.
