About the Item
Monarch Rising is an original fine art painting by Ashvin Harrison — a profound celebration of renewal, beauty, and emotional evolution. Created for exhibition at the Art Miami Fair during Art Basel 2025 with The Wall Art Gallery, this piece stands as one of three feature works representing Harrison’s fusion of realism, emotion, and expressive abstraction.
At the centre of the composition, a nude female figure rises in luminous charcoal realism, her head tilted upward in surrender to the unseen. Her posture evokes release — the moment when strength and softness coexist as one. Harrison’s charcoal brushing technique renders her with anatomical precision and soulful presence, bridging realism and transcendence.
From her crown erupts a breathtaking storm of motion — golden, blue, and peach splashes interwoven with hand-painted flowers, forming an atmosphere of wild beauty and transformation. Butterflies drift upward from her chest and shoulders, their wings ablaze in monarch orange and gold. They symbolise metamorphosis, freedom, and the fragile persistence of life… to live in the Miami moment.
The upper explosion of movement becomes both hair and cosmos — a halo of thoughts, emotions, and memory blooming outward into infinity. Monarch Rising captures the essence of Harrison’s evolving Motusrealism — a dance between structure and spontaneity, form and spirit. It is an ode to self-awakening, depicting the inner unfolding that follows release, acceptance, and renewal.

An artwork inspired by a love of beautiful nature with a focus on existentialism through the beauty of human feminine form. The woman is in a pose of contemplation as she explores the vibrant garden of her mind. She has the creatures of her imagination guiding her with subtle hints to her positive future. The purple flowers hang at 11:11 as the time of the universe empowers her. Golden ratio is examined throughout this creation with a balance of shadow and light to enhance the placement of subject focuses. This coconut charcoal and acrylic painting on fine art rolled canvas is an expression of life through thought, emotion with fine art realism, expressionism and abstract styles. Coconut charcoal powder provides the representational structure for the beautiful woman with a wild garden growing behind her physical and the mind, using a unique and also made up technique with paint brushes.
A strong mix of acrylic colours are splashed for an expressive effect for both movement and emotion in what is referred to as a unique creation in ‘Motusrealism’. Two monarch butterflies, a bee, a blue wren...

"I Can Experience Joy and Happiness" Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
Art measures 48 x 48 inches
Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good.
Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...
