Portrait French PS 247 Starry Night Diving
Portrait of a diving woman dress with a Vincent Van Gogh swimsuit A daring dive in the unknown! This is one of the famous artwork from Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night
Technique: oil, acrylic, and ink on old book pages on wooden frame 55x55cm ■■ 21,6x21,6 inch
⭐Sustainability⭐: Wooden frame is made by the artist by recycling old books. In an ecological approach, each packaging is tailor-made and is itself from a recycling network.
⭐Medium
Technique⭐
The artist uses mixed media, most likely combining acrylic and oil paint with ink and collage. The background pages provide a raw, archival aesthetic, grounding the composition in both time and memory. Over this, the vibrant and expressive brushstrokes bring the figure to life. The paint is applied thickly and energetically, especially in the skin tones and hair, where the strokes are almost sculptural.
⭐Subject
Form⭐
At the heart of the composition is a reclining or floating woman, viewed from an aerial or upside-down perspective, her legs folded toward her chest. Her brown skin glows with warm, radiant hues of ochre, orange, and crimson, creating a strong contrast with the cool blues that swirl around her. These blue elements—reminiscent of waves, clouds, or cosmic currents—evoke both movement and dream.
The woman’s hair is rendered in deep, expressive black and cobalt, cascading like night itself across the page. Her skirt or garment is a tapestry of bright turquoise with floral motifs, a pattern that enhances the feeling of night and stars hinted at in the painting’s title.
⭐Symbolism
Interpretation⭐
Nuit étoilée (translated “Starry Night”) invites obvious but nuanced comparisons to Van Gogh’s famous work of the same name. Here, however, the “night” is not a celestial landscape but embodied in the subject herself. She becomes both dreamer and dream, wrapped in a cosmic rhythm. The starry motif on her clothes, the swirling blues, and the playful use of paint splatters allude to imagination, sensuality, and freedom.
The physical posture of the woman—vulnerable yet self-contained—suggests a moment of introspection, peace, or transcendence. She floats in a liminal space between text and image, presence and abstraction, evoking a surrealist dreamscape.
⭐Color
Composition⭐
The artist balances the warm earthy tones of the skin with the cool, celestial palette of the blues and turquoises. This duality hints at both grounded reality and ethereal escape. The use of black splatters throughout the background intensifies the energy, suggesting spontaneity and motion, while also symbolizing stars, ink, or the erosion of time.
The figure dominates the canvas diagonally, which breaks traditional vertical or horizontal formats and gives the work a modern, kinetic energy. The background text—legible in parts—functions almost like whispered thoughts or fragmented stories beneath the figure, adding depth and narrative tension.
Conclusion
Nuit étoilée is a rich and evocative painting that blends figurative art with poetic abstraction.

Bazévian Delacapucinière is a French artist whose works have appeared in numerous exhibitions and publications in Europe, America and Asia.
My work focuses on oxidized images from the collective memory of the 20th century. According to Aristotle, from memory to reminiscence, it is necessary to reactivate images through the imagination to know their sensitive power. Consequently, the gaze (of portraits) becomes power, texture becomes light. Finally, this transposition of images becomes my individual memory.

Bazévian Delacapucinière is an artist, now based in France who painted vibrant figurative painting with vivid colors. Norwegian, Brasilian, Korean, Bazévian spent 10 years on the road, meeting a lot of artists and people. Bazévian focuses mostly on portraits, because the face is a vital part of how we express ourselves. «Face is language and meaning. It is obviously the location for the expressions and emotions which gives information about the character. However, the face is also the only part of the body that is normally exposed and naked. We can't hide it in our society. Finally, it belongs to social issue". Bazévian unpacks the consumerist imagery that saturates society— namely impossibly perfect magazine pictures— by composing figures whose bodies disappear and faces form in an explosion of vivid colour. For Delacapucinière, these faces are vessels of social standards, and their interpretation therefore becomes an invitation to challenge such norms. Bazévian used several techniques with oil, oil pastel and acrylic to create small, medium and large painting, developing new technique of expression by dilatation and extracting the painting. Bazévian has held solo exhibitions in France, Norway, Brazil and South Korea. Emerging artist, Bazévian’s painting can be found in all collection from US to Europe and now Asia.
