Eugene Brands: 1913-2002. Very important Dutch painter with auction records over $165,000. He was one of the founders of the avant-garde Cobra School. This powerful example is oil on paper or board. It is signed and dated 4.56 for April 1956. It measures 13 3/4 inches wide by 13 1/8 high. The frame measures 20 1/2 by 20. ***A similar sized oil on paper just sold April 28 in Netherlands auction for over $8000 with the buyers premium.
