This artwork "Sisters" c.1990 is an oil painting on canvas by noted British artist Brenda Burke, b.1957. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 25 x 30 inches, framed size is 33 x 37 inches. Framed in original wooden beige and gold ornate frame, with fabric liner. It is in excellent condition. About the artist: Brenda Burke started to paint at an early age of three years. Her career has spanned more than half a century, encompassing paintings, portraits, sculpture and printmaking. She has trained in the classical style of the old masters at the renowned Farnham art school just outside of London, England and continuing her studies in Florence and Rome, Italy, Burke’s wealth of experience, technical excellence and artistic vision is evident in each of her exceptional works of art. Her work can be seen in private collections around the world. Sometimes known as the Painter of Royalty, Brenda has been chosen to present her work to Her Majesty The Queen of England. She was commissioned to paint the celebratory portrait for Prince Charles and Lady Diana's engagement, and she was again selected to create the painting for the christening of Prince William. Her skill and versatility has also been shown in a collection of limited edition wax and porcelain dolls, dressed in fine silks and antique French lace. Brenda is currently working on paintings inspired by the immortal horses of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, and as always, she continues to be inspired by love of the beauty she finds in the world around us.

It is hand signed and inscribed A.P (Artist Proof) in pencil by the artist. The image size is 29 x 19 inches, sheet size is 36 x 25 inches. It is in excellent condition, the colors are fresh and bright, it has never been framed. About the artist: Wai Ming, was born in Canton, South China on November 11, 1938, the son of a school master with nine children. Extremely poor as a child, he was raised in Hong Kong enduring many hardships amidst a chaotic environment of war and refugee settlements. Wai Ming's love for art flourished and he developed his drawing techniques without any art education, just painting what he saw. In the 1960s, Ming found representation in Hong Kong and also took the unusual step of opening his own gallery to display his work in. His primary interest being to capture images of life in fishing villages, or 'fish-folk', who have retained traditional Chinese culture, his work was at home with the sensibilities of many art buyers in Hong Kong. Crossing the ocean in his mid-30s, Wai Ming arrived in San Francisco from Hong Kong in 1974. About the artist: Pati Bannister was born in Highgate, England, overlooking London in 1929. Growing up, both of her parents were artists. Her mother painted watercolor landscapes, while her father painted portraits. To help further her natural talents, she took art lessons as a young girl and ultimately went to work for J. Arthur Rank, the movie maker, as an animator.​ At 22 years old, she came to the United States as a governess for a family in Connecticut. Later she became a flight attendant in Florida where she met her future husband, Glynn. Little did she know, he would become the strongest influence in her life as he inspired her to pursue and share her artistic abilities with the public. ​In 1958, Pati and Glynn moved to New Orleans and she started painting portraits in Jackson Square.
