Coll Bardolet
Josep Coll i Bardolet (Campdevànol, Ripollés, November 7, 1912 - Valldemosa, July 30, 2007) was a Spanish painter. He studied in Vich and Olot. At the end of 1936, when the civil war began, he went into exile from Spain, and settled the following year in Tours, where he had his first individual exhibition in the gallery of the Touraine Institute. At Christmas 1937, he moved to Brussels, He worked in the port of Antwerp and enrolled in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He remained in the Belgian capital until 1939, the year of the outbreak of the Second World War, when he decided to return to Spain. He initially settled in Barcelona. Subsequently, he remained for a few years in Mallorca, although with a hiatus of a few months in Madrid, where he studied engraving at the San Fernando Academy. Finally, in 1944, he settled permanently in Valldemosa (Mallorca). He exhibited in Vic, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway and in the United States. His painting, sensitive and sincere, in an impressionist style, has drawn the landscape, agricultural work and Majorcan dances with watercolor, collage and especially oil painting. He also dedicated himself to still life and illustration. Coll Bardolet was also one of the founders of the Balearic Cultural Work. In 1964, he decided to promote choral music by organizing the Torrente de Pareis Concert, which has been held annually since then. When he died, he donated most of his work to the Sanctuary of Lluc, in Mallorca. Another part was bequeathed to the Coll Bardolet Cultural Foundation in Valldemosa.

Ignacio Gil Sala, was a painter, bohemian character, adventurous and intrepid traveler who knew how to capture his eyes to that world with his painting. After starting his artistic training at the age of nine, Gil Sala entered the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he had as teachers Felix Mestres and Vicente Borrás. Already in 1930, being still almost an apprentice, he obtained the bronze medal of the School, and in 1936 he won by contest a scholarship to make a study trip through Spain. Those were the difficult moments of the outbreak of the Civil War and thanks to the help of the sculptor Mariano Benlliure, he was able to complete his artistic training. Throughout his life Ignacio Gil dedicated himself to travel both in the Peninsula and in different Islamic and Latin American countries. "Danse Enchanteresse", Gerard Valtier, Oil on Canvas, French, 35x46 in., Music
By Gerard Valtier
Located in Dallas, TX
"Danse Enchanteresse" by Gerard Valtier is an original oil on canvas that measures 35x46 inches. Impressionistic painting uses an array of bright colors to create a fun, musical image. Two women in vibrant pink and orange skirts perform an enchanting dance on stage for others. Many appreciate the energetic work of the brush to describe the foliage or the luminous backgrounds irradiated with numerous vibrant colors.
Seething with colors, sparkling, blazing, molten gold: the whole mystery of Gerard Valtier’s painting lies in the working of this colorful living chemistry, where the thickening cover of the glaze catches the reflections of the light, which progressively becomes incandescent.
The contrasting blue and yellow, basically naturalistic colors - characteristic of the impressionist palette - create a feeling of bedazzlement which send out their own light, directly imitating the natural effects of light itself. Thus, the property of the color, the interaction of colors as well as their power to create some light, definitely are the basis of Valtier’s work.
The artist can paint everything: barges along the quay, the busy crowds, Venice and its carnival, the bride and her procession - his whole painting is under the sign of the feast. Unlike Renoir or Cezanne, Valtier does not hesitate to use black as a true color, not one designed to soften or drain the pure color, as in the shadows. One will also appreciate the energetic work of the brush to describe the foliage or the luminous backgrounds irradiated with numerous vibrant colors.
Valtier has had exhibitions throughout the world and has received many awards. He paints from his studio in Arles, France. He is listed in Mayers, Akoun, La Cote des Peinteres, Bordas International, and Financial Art.
